How easy to install stoves?

Rules For Installation:

All stoves must be installed in accordance with existing rules and legislation. A few important points relating to the installation of a Morsø stove are described below:

Distance Requirements:

All Morsø stoves are characterised as closed fireplaces. Therefore, if the stove is placed on inflammable material at least 30 cm in front of the great opening and at least 15 cm on each side . And also stoves must not be placed closer than 50 cm from inflammable materials in walls and ceiling. To allow proper heat distribution and cleaning both behind and inside the stove 10 cm distance from the wall is recomended. As a rule, wallpaper is not considered an inflammable material when it pasted on a brick wall.

Distance requirements :

All Morsø stoves are characterised as closed fireplaces.
There are some distance requirements if the stove is to be installed near inflamable material :

In front of the stove : Min. 500 mm (By some stoves 800 mm. Please see catalogue)

To the side of the stove : Min. 200 mm (By some stoves 300 or 400 mm. Please see catalogue)

To the back of the stove : Min. 150 mm (By some stoves 200 mm. Please see catalogue)

To allow proper heat distribution and room for cleaning both behind and inside the stove, 100-150 mm distance from the wall is recomended.

As a rule, wallpaper is not considered an inflammable material when it is pasted on a brick wall.

Chimney Connection:

Morsø stoves can be connected to chimneys where other solid fuel closed fireplaces are also connected. For example; another woodstove is also connected. The two connection points must be at least 25 cm apart. Morso stoves require a chimney opening of approximately 175 cm2 , corresponding to 15 cm in diameter.

Installation And Fitting:

The chimney is the one of the most important preconditions for a well-functioning stove. The chimney works in principle, like the stove's motor. If it does not have the right draught, the stove will not function optimally.

Draught Conditions:

The chimney's draught is created by the difference between the high temperature inside the chimney and the colder temperature outside.

A good draught obtained:

•  When the temperature difference between the chimney and outside is large.
•  The weather is clear.
•  When the chimney has the right height. (At least 4 m height and no more than 5-6 meters. A chimney longer than 6-7 meters will probably aquire a fan)

Poor draught results:

•  When the temperature difference is too small, for example due to a poorly insulated chimney.
•  When the outdoor temperature is too high, for example in summer.
•  There is no wind.
•  If the chimney is not high enough, so that it is sheltered by tall trees or rooftops. In such cases, there is a big danger of return smoke.
•  When false air gets into the chimney, for example through cracks in the joints.

Fitting:

Most Morsø stoves allow connection from top outlet or back outlet. With a top outlet, you also get the extra heatgiven off by the flue gasses in the stove pipe.

For 1400 series stoves:

O05- The chimney opening on the wall must be in 120mm diameter

010- Fix the flue pipe bush in the wall. You can choose the right bush length for your chimney.

012- Seal the connection with ceramic packing cord. If you ask

for better appearance, you can choose to put a trim ring

between the chimney opening and the flue pipe.

For the rest of the stoves series :

O05- Measure your chimney opening on the wall, it must be 155mm in diameter.

009- If it's not, change the diamension of your chimney opening to 155 mm.

010- Fix the flue pipe bush into the wall. You can choose the right bush length for your chimney.

012- Seal the connection with ceramic packing cord. If you ask for better appearance, you can choose to put a trim ring between the chimney opening and the flue pipe.
